Upcoming Mercedes Benz Cars in India in 2021

Mercedes-Benz has a very rich heritage in the Indian market. After all, it is the leading luxury carmaker in the country, and it has been dethroning its competitors off this throne for a very long while now. This is largely due to the fact that the carmaker has been around in the Indian market for quite some time now, and it has built a chain of trust with its consumers.

Mercedes-Benz is to a luxury car buyer what Maruti Suzuki is to an average common man planning to buy a car in the Indian market. This also means that the brand has the widest reach in the market – amongst the luxury carmakers of course – and the maintenance costs are relatively more affordable in the case of Mercedes-Benz too, as opposed to its mainstream rivals.

This is why Mercedes-Benz is also the first brand to locally produce its performance-based line-up in the country – AMG, as we know it – while others have stuck with importing their high-performance vehicles directly, which surely leads to increase in the overall costs, and also the waiting period.

For today, we’re going to discuss the potential Mercedes-Benz models that are all set to be introduced in the Indian market sometime in 2021. So, here’s a list of all the upcoming Mercedes-Benz models coming soon to a Merc dealership near you.

1. Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine

The A-Class Limousine will fill the void created by the absence of the CLA, which was discontinued earlier this ear when the BS-VI emission norms came into force. Mercedes-Benz cars introduced the A-Class Limousine at the Auto Expo earlier this year and it is set to bring it to the Indian market as early as the first quarter of next year. It’s going to be the brand’s most affordable model in the country when it sets foot on our shores, going up against the likes of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, Skoda Superb, Toyota Camry, and the upcoming Audi A3.

2. Mercedes-Benz E-Class Facelift

The E-Class has been Mercedes-Benz’s cash cow in the Indian market, as it has been the most popular model in its space, thanks to the availability of a long-wheelbase version as a standard model. But the 2021 iteration of the E-Class facelift isn’t going to be as new as the A-Class or the S-Class, instead it’s going to be more of a mid-cycle facelift update, focussed on bringing the design and the overall equipment of the E-Class in line with the other models from the Stuttgart-based brand. Therefore, it is also set to carry forward the same set of BS-VI compliant engines as the ongoing model. Expect it to arrive in the first quarter of 2021.

3. Mercedes-Benz S-Class

The S-Class, which is considered as the epitome of luxury, has been given a full makeover already and the new version is all set to hit the Indian market as early as next year. The new S-Class is sharper, more elegant, more desirable, and going by the pictures, even more comfortable than the ongoing model. Under the hood, the S-Class is going to feature a petrol and a diesel powertrain in both standard and hybrid guise.

4. Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet

The comfort and opulence of the E-Class combined with the hair-raising experience of a convertible, that’s what the E-Class Cabriolet is, to be frank. It is the best of both worlds, luxury and driving appeal. And, of course, the added appeal and road presence that comes with a convertible. Expect it to be shorter than the E-Class, of course, as it is not going to be a long-wheelbase model. The design elements and powertrain options, on the other hand, should be in line with the 2021 E-Class facelift. Expect it to arrive late next year.

5. Mercedes-Benz GLA

The GLA, too, is all set to get a huge makeover as Mercedes-Benz is, by the second quarter of 2021, expected to launch the all-new GLA in the Indian market. Gone is the low-slung crossover styled entry-level SUV from Mercedes-Benz and in comes with sharper and bolder GLA, which looks way in line with other SUVs from the brand and it is also based on the same platform as the upcoming A-Class Limousine. Expect the same powertrains as its sedan sibling to power the 2021 GLA.  Also, grab the latest info on the upcoming cars in India , only at autoX.
